Two years ago I was very sick and required surgery. As I was being put under for the procedure I thought to myself “I hate my job.”
In a lucid moment, I realized if something bad happened during that would be my last thought in life. The idea instantly made me sad and terrified me.
When I awoke, I was determined pour all of my passion into my art and pursue photography as a way to make a living.
The first image in this series was taken from my wheelchair post-surgery after I woke with my epiphany. All remaining images were taken during the recovery period.
These photographs mark both a personal turning point in my life/art and serve as a visual representation of the first steps in my journey.
